etting on the strawberry

Those of the parish of Sarandós, in the city council of Abegondo, can boast of having for more than 40 years of the plantations of bigger strawberries of Galicia.
Among them were Manuel and Miguel Vázquez, two brothers who did not reach the age of 40 and who were already playing with children between tractors and strawberries that were planted by their parents.

Knowing the business, at the beginning of the year 2000 they decided to take over the farm, growing strawberries on their farms and creating a new civil society.
“They are also beginning to produce yellow kiwi, which has excellent nutritional and taste qualities”

The strawberries that plants are of the variety “diamond jungle“, very similar to the strawberry of Huelva, as well as other varieties remontantes.

In Sarandós they have the camera to refrigerate them, as well as the refrigerator truck with which they make the distribution, mainly to the Central Fruit Market of Corunna, although also they sell to small stores of Abegondo, Carral, Betanzos … “We also sell on the farm itself, thus saving on transport costs”
It does not plan to expand the business in the short term, as Manuel says “We have to endure, which is the important thing in these times.”
