Bodegas Bordel is a family farm in Sarandós, in the town hall of Abegondo, which has a long tradition in agricultural orientations mainly linked to the production of orchard and fruit.
Since 2006, with the inclusion of the parish in the expansion of the protected area of the Protected Geographical Indication Wine of the Land of Betanzos, the interest in giving an approach to the most professional viticulture begins, evolving from an activity armed in tradition and self-consumption.
In this way, a process of acquisition of planting rights and the implementation of new vineyards and varieties such as the Legitimate White that ends in 2018, in which it is decided to create a small winery for the commercialization of the processed wines.
At present, the limited area available (a maximum productive potential of 5,000 bottles is estimated) does not allow exclusive dedication to the activity, but pursues above all, through a modest supplement of rents, the recovery of agricultural land that were gradually abandoned as well as the interest and enthusiasm for the activity to generations to come.
The main commercial routes used vary between the local and commercial specialists in the sector, trying to have a presence in professional forums or wine contests.
