Oberto Porta is a young man of only 34 years who is dedicated to the production of organic garden. It is registered in the Regulatory Council of Organic Agriculture of Galicia (CRAEGA) with the code GA / 02980 / PV.
Although it comes from the electricity sector, a completely different branch to agriculture always had contact with the world of the garden. For this reason, and wanting to change their way of life, in 2017 it launches “La Huerta de Porta” with the help of the association and thanks to a financing plan for entrepreneurs granted by La caixa.
Today it already has 10,000 m2 spread over 8 plots and 840 m2 of greenhouses.
Its production is the most varied, ranging from vegetables such as cabbage, pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers or onions, through aromatic and wild plants to fruit trees.
These products are aimed at restaurants in the area, specialty stores and even for sale on site due to the good situation of the main farm.
At the moment the business incubator that has in the association in the polygon of Iñas, in Oleiros has just been incorporated.
